Why Choose Riding Lessons at KEL?

We know that it can be overwhelming to get started in the horse world. That's why at KEL Equestrian, we have safe, well-trained horses and a curriculum that has been tested and developed for over ten years to help you learn as much as you can while having as much fun as possible!

When you schedule your first lesson, your instructor will give you a tour of the barn, introduce you to our wonderful lesson horses, and then you'll start with the basics: leading and caring for horses.

We are based out of South Bay Horse Ranch located at 1290 Masten Ave Gilroy, CA 95020, only a 20-minute drive from San Jose!

What should I wear to my lesson?

We recommend wearing you wear the following to your lesson:

  • long pants for riding (breeches, yoga pants/leggings, jeans are all acceptable)
  • closed-toed shoes or boots (preferably a shoe with a heel to prevent your feet from slipping from the stirrups)

Dress for the weather! Although we do have a covered area, dress to be comfortable before and after your lesson.

Do I need to fill out any forms before my lesson?
